Project Overview
Founded in 2000, CityMark Development has built a reputation for sophisticated urban projects across San Diego with a mission rooted in community enrichment. The firm builds long-lasting relationships with its customers, guiding them from floor plan to finishes and first place to forever home. But the company's original brand identity had not evolved alongside its portfolio or its people.
What began as a foundational mark at the firm's inception had remained largely unchanged for over two decades, no longer reflecting the innovation and design sensibility that define CityMark's work today. The rebrand was not a cosmetic refresh. CityMark needed an identity system that could stand alongside its built work, communicating modernity, sophistication, and a genuine commitment to the communities it develops within.

AFMKTG approached the CityMark engagement as a full-company identity project, working from brand strategy through design execution. The goal was to create a cohesive identity system that honored the firm's history and mission while positioning it for the next chapter of growth.
Brand Mark & Visual Identity
The new brand mark was developed to reflect CityMark's core principles: modernity, innovation, and sophistication. AFMKTG created a visual identity system that moved the company's aesthetic forward without abandoning the equity built over more than 20 years of development in San Diego. Every element, from typography to color system, was chosen to feel refined, purposeful, and distinctly urban.

AFMKTG developed a refreshed messaging framework to give CityMark a clear, confident voice across all company communications. The language was built to reflect how the firm actually works: deliberate, design-conscious, and deeply invested in the neighborhoods and the people it builds for.

The rebrand extended into CityMark's digital presence, with AFMKTG guiding the social media identity and website to ensure consistency across every channel. The updated digital touch points gave the refreshed brand a platform to perform, connecting the company's portfolio, team, and values under a unified visual and verbal identity.
