CityMark Development asked AFMKTG to create a brand mark for Craft, a residential development in the Golden Hill Neighborhood of San Diego, California.

For over two decades, CityMark has established itself as the tastemaker of San Diego’s real estate world, developing underutilized industrial neighborhoods, revitalizing suburban neighborhoods, and reimagining urban cores. Having built more than 23 communities and 1,500 neighborhoods, CityMark adds value, creates community, and stimulates growth.

Through the brand mark, we endeavored to represent Golden Hill, a timeless yet up-and-coming San Diego neighborhood and the legacy of CityMark Development, which is responsible for some of San Diego’s most iconic developments. 

This brand mark had to first meet baseline expectations of functionality, versatility, and legibility, but also exude an undeniable ‘cool factor’ that mirrors the small-batch coffee shops, funky homegrown restaurants, and local craft breweries that punctuate the neighborhood.
